Proof Rod Dryer (70" & 140" track)
A better way to finish a rod.
Rod dryers are simple tools, but the small details have a significant effect on how they are used. The Proof Rod Dryer was designed around those details.
The dual-tension chuck holds the rod securely from opposing directions, eliminating the rod from walking as it rotates. Its adjustable design accommodates a wide range of diameters, allowing it to securely hold reel seats, grips, and both large and small rod sections. Rather than relying on metal arms or a stretch-fit rubber opening, the chuck uses simple, replaceable bands that provide a secure grip and can be replaced in seconds.
The entire dryer sits lower than a conventional rod dryer, bringing the rod closer to the work surface. This allows you to rest your hand and forearm naturally on the bench while applying finish instead of holding your arm above the rod for extended periods.
A full-length track replaces individual satellite supports. Supports can be positioned exactly where they're needed and remain aligned with the motor and chuck. The track is made from two 36" sections that join together for use and separate easily for storage or transport, so you get the working length of a full-size dryer without having to store or carry a 70" assembly.
Even the smaller details were considered. The power switch is positioned four inches behind the motor stand—close enough to reach naturally while working without cluttering the area around the rod. Black components, matching hardware, and a restrained design give the entire dryer a clean, cohesive appearance.
The result is a rod dryer that does the same fundamental job rod dryers have always done, but does it with fewer compromises.
