Payne 101 7' 6" 5wt. finishing kit
This kit includes everything you need to finish out your bamboo blank. We custom select a guide set, which includes a hand fit tip top and winding check, stripping guide, strap and ring hook keeper, and full set of snake guides.
Follow along with our video tutorials where we walk you through every step of building your own bamboo fly rod. We show you how to seal and polish your blank, wrap guides, install the grip and reel seat.
We also include your choice of grip and reel seat (not sure what to order? Check out our suggestions below).
Finally, the kit includes all of the finishes and epoxies you will need to complete your rod. We even include an India ink pen so you can sign your name to it.

spar varnish (for sealing the thread)
fine point India ink pen (for signing your blank)
tru-oil for sealing your blank
rotten stone and sandpaper (for polishing out your blank)
5min. epoxy for installing the grip and reel seat
Premium thread burnisher
extra vial and pipette (for thinning the spar varnish)
Guide tape
plastic brushes (for applying the spar varnish)
razor blades
spool of silk thread (select color below)
spool of silk for trim bands (select color below)
