The 8' 6" 4wt. features a classic medium/fast action that is perfect for fishing small to medium size rivers and streams. The classic action loads silky smooth and the slightly shorter length does a great job splitting the difference when accuracy and tippet protection are a must. This blank is quickly becoming one of my favorites. When a 9'5wt. is too much and a a 3wt isn't quite enough the 8'6" 4wt. hits a sweet spot. I have thrown everything from small to medium sized dries, small streamers, and tandem nymph rigs with this rod and it does an excellent job.
